I bought this for my 6 y/o daughter. I think this is good for ages 5 – 7. The graphics are not designed for serious games. This is a kids game. My daughter loves it. I don’t think its fun, but she does and that’s all that’s important. I didn’t buy the game for me. I must admit at the beginning even I was a little puzzled. However I’m not want for taking the time to read instructions either. I gave the remote to her and told her to figure it out. Out of the box this game is not easy nor should it be. That defeats the purpose of learning new things and developing problem solving skills. It’s all about hand and eye coordination. She’s own the game for 3 months and has come a long way on her own WITHOUT MY HELP. When she beat the monkey picking flowers she gets excited. the key is to use the arrows and move your arms up and down fast. I’m not sure if this game is short. I don’t think my daughter has finished it. I don’t know because I don’t stand over her. If I did she will say I can’t do it or I need help. It’s a cute game. If she was to break it I would buy it again. If you stand over your child or allow them to give up this is not the game for you. Maybe you should consider sidewalk chalk.

My daughter hasn’t played this game too much, because she got very frustrated with it almost immediately. It has been awhile since she played it because she prefers smartgirl’s playhouse because it’s so much easier for her to figure out. But I seem to remember that there were some parts in this game where you have to read the instructions. I could be remembering wrong though. But I do remember that she got very frustrated with several of the games…..they were too hard for her because of having to be pretty precise with tracing drawings, and having to be coordinated enough to move back and forth with the keypad to predict where a fruit is going to fall and hit it on a pillow once or twice to get it in a basket. There were other games that she was frustrated with. She actually cried with this game. And she yelled and screamed. She got very frustrated, and now if I ask her if she wants to play it, she says no.

Perhaps an older child who can be more skilled in fine motor skills, and who has the patience needed for this game, would like it.

Hi I’m a 21 year old Autistic adult gamer…

I love the Barbie video games and yeah I’m 21 and watch all the barbie movies too. I’m a big Barbie fan!

This game is awesome it will keep you busy for hours on end plus it has clips from the movie and bonus stuff.

Buy this game you like it!

Do not buy Barbie 12 dancing princesses unless it’s for the GBA the DS version is the same thing to a t as the GBA version so be forwarned.

Happy Gaming!

I bought this game after my 5-year old daughter played with the Disney Enchanged Journey game for a month. The graphics are great and the game is easy to learn and good to play in 30-minute stints. The controls are easy to learn for small kids. Just wish they had more options for dressing the Barbie, such as color and more dresses. A good value for the money.

This is one of my 6-yr old daughter favorite Wii games (others she likes are Disney Princess, Wii Sports Resort, Endless Ocean, Super Smash Bros.). I’ve read complaints that the load times are too slow (true, they are slow, but the max wait time for us was about 30 sec. for the dressing room to load up — we just used the time to take breaks), and that the games are too basic, while other say the games are too hard, etc. etc. I think if a 5-7 year old girl likes Barbie, likes games, and is reasonably adept at video games, she will like this game. The mini-games provide variety (and allows you to play the game in nice little bite-size chunks) and the story and unlockable items provide fun incentives. In fact, I (the dad) enjoy playing the games with her and seeing if we can top our high scores. We did “finish” the game quickly, but my daughter doesn’t care, she just has fun with the games and the dressing room.
